Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is an innovative construction method that improves construction efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. The Anderson Primary School Project, undertaken by Chun Wo Construction, adopted a hybrid MiC system, which combines the concrete MiC systems with traditional on-site bar-bending and formworking systems. Chun Wo project team also uses BIM (Building Information Modeling) to thoroughly review the design in advance, eliminating component clashes to ensure a smooth and safe installation process.

Yip Shing Street Modular Social Housing Project, undertaken by Chun Wo Construction and launched by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, adopted a steel MiC system. A hundred prefabricated modules are manufactured in a factory, transported to the site, and assembled there. Chun Wo project team also uses BIM (Building Information Modeling) to break space constraints and simulate the transportation, lifting, and assembly processes to ensure a smooth and safe installation process.

The fourth episode of the “Chun Wo’s Success Story” series - The "Development of Anderson Road Quarry Site" is designed to be a major residential land supply in Hong Kong. In addition to contracting a number of projects in this area, Chun Wo also takes on pioneering tasks including land formation and infrastructure development. The project team was invited to discuss the construction process and challenges in this episode. By overcoming obstacles like "water supply", "road traffic", and "epidemic", as well as resolving community conflict, we have laid a crucial foundation for the growth of this new development area and enabled a smooth start for subsequent projects.
