Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is an innovative construction method that improves construction efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. Yip Shing Street Modular Social Housing Project, undertaken by Chun Wo Construction and launched by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, adopted a steel MiC system. A hundred prefabricated modules are manufactured in a factory, transported to the site, and assembled there. Chun Wo project team also uses BIM (Building Information Modeling) to break space constraints and simulate the transportation, lifting, and assembly processes to ensure a smooth and safe installation process.
